Rock My Heart & Other News...
Just in case you are wondering why I have been so quiet, I am hard at work on Rock My Heart, which will premiere on Friday, August 30th. It might seem easy to slip back into the world of rock and roll and begin the Scarlet Fever Series but if I am honest, it hasn't been.
Out From Under took a lot out of me, emotionally speaking, and because there is left over angst, Rock My Heart will not be as light and fluffy as the One More Night Trilogy. It will have some very dark and intense aspects to it and yes, there will be some infidelity. This isn't a spoiler, just letting you know what to prepare for.
Before you curse me and call me a bitch for changing up your favorite characters, realize Kaz and Syd didn't get together conventionally so nothing about their relationship was ever just going to settle into domestic bliss without any issues. They both have their own inner demons to fight and that is what this story is about.
No, I will not save the infidelity to the last fifty pages so there is a quick resolution, all is forgiven and all is well. It will take up a lot of space in this novel because people do stray and couples do have to work through issues.
This is Kaz and Syd's happy ending but I am not going to hand it over on a silver platter though there won't be drama for the sake of drama either. I want them to feel real, to be real and for you, the reader, to want to see them work out their issues.
Now...moving on...I have handed out quite a few ARCs of Out From Under and I know many of you have bought the book too.
I am so excited if you liked this book and left a review on Goodreads. Thank you because you didn't have to say anything at all. However, I also need some reviews on Amazon too so I am holding a contest for 5 ARC copies of Rock My Heart. If you bought it from Kobo or B&N, you're still eligible. If you left a review at those places or only Goodreads, all you have to do is copy and paste.
Now, I would prefer those who enjoyed the book to leave reviews but if you just thought it was meh and gave it 3 to 3.5 stars, then that is fine as well. I am not going to shoot you or think you are an awful person just because you didn't enjoy this book as well as some of my other novels. It is what it is.
However, your help is always appreciated and reviews do drive sales. I will always be grateful for all my readers so leave a review and get a chance at winning an ARC for Rock My Heart. You would get the book Sunday, August 25th...5 days before it was available for purchase. Now, if that isn't a reason to use copy and paste then I don't know what is! ;-)

Friday Tease...
Another tease from Out from Under...remember this is before everything falls apart and the real excitement begins. I am having so much fun with character development but I would really like to hear back from readers. This novel is like a slow burn, getting hotter and hotter until it builds into an inferno. The first scenes aren't mundane as much as they are giving a little background but not too much. Enjoy!

“Earth to Trista, how are
you and what are you doing here?”
I turned towards Tristan’s
voice before I smiled and walked over to embrace him and Taryn.
“I’m great although to be
honest, I can’t wait to get out of this podunk town,” I said before I sipped
from my drink.
Tristan glared at me with
harsh, sky blue eyes. “What’s that? Coke? You better not be drinkin’ alcohol.
Mom and Dad would have my ass if they found out their perfect daughter was
caught dead at a Bastards’ party with this many drunk and fucked up people
running around. What they hell is wrong with you? If anyone can understand how
out of control these events can become, it’s you.”
“Well,” I said as I placed
my hands on my hips, “if you have any ideas how I am, supposed to spend my New
Year’s night, especially in our little hole in the wall town, I’m all ears,” I
replied in a sarcastic voice.”
“Maybe you should spend time
at home for a change. Take Clooney with you—I’m sure he’ll be thrilled to know
you have the house all to yourselves.”
I laughed out loud. “That’s
not gonna happen because as soon as I get to Stanford, we’re through. Long
distance relationships don’t work and Trey has demanded I cut all ties with the
MC.”
“He’s right, you know,”
Taryn replied in her soft, barely-there Northern Irish accent. “You’ve been
surrounded by this whole scene your whole life and it’s not healthy. I was so
happy to get the hell out of Belfast, I didn’t know what to do. Of course, I
miss me Ma but do you know what it’s like to attend high school and university
in a normal environment? No bombs exploding and not having to worry about being
a Catholic?”
She paused and wrapped her arms
around Tristan’s waist. “That’s why I love your brother so much. He loves me
for me and it doesn’t hurt that he’s one of the most sexiest men I have ever met.”
My brother looked at her
before he kissed her lips softly. “I love you too, babe.”
I smiled at both of them
before I pursed my lips and left the club house. I sat outside on a wooden
bench and watched a few revelers in more than close for comfort positions while
I drank my Southern Comfort and Coke.
I needed to get out of here
and I couldn’t wait for the New Year. As far as I was concerned, it couldn’t
come fast enough.

Tuesday tease for my upcoming stand-alone novel!
Out From Under is a multi-faceted New Adult stand alone novel that deals with loss, grief, love, happiness and finding yourself after losing yourself.
Trista Lennon is a young woman heading off to Stanford University when her life is turned upside down by a devastating accident where she loses most of her family. She trades Northern California and an Ivy League for the City of Angels and her rock star cousin, Talia Viaro-Stewart.
As her PA, she is run ragged by Talia but she enjoys the work and she never thought in a city as fake as L.A., she would find the one man who is so wrong for her, he's right.
Trista experiences happiness for the first time since the accident but little does she know, she was supposed to die along with her parents and someone still wants her dead...
The following scene takes place before Trista's life is turned upside down.
Excerpt
Clooney still walked with a
slight limp but at least he didn’t have to use his walking stick and he’d
almost healed to the point where he could run.
He was the first man I’d
ever given my virginity too and although we both knew there was zero chance of
me ever becoming his old lady, we liked each other a lot. Too much because I was
going to miss him, his girlish creamy complexion covered in a handful of tats
and his lean body. I would even miss the scar that went from his left hip all
the way down to his calf where multiple operations had taken place. It was a
thin, pink scar which had keloid and was slightly puffy against his otherwise
perfect skin.
I laid on my stomach in his
bed in the clubhouse and ran my hands over one of his army tattoos on his
smooth, hairless chest.
“So, what happens now? When
will I see you?”
Ugh, I wanted to avoid that
question like the plague and wondered why I felt like our situations were
reversed. Why did I feel like the man and him the chick? I knew I would let him
down what ever I told him but it was no use.
“You probably won’t see much
of me,” I began in a cautious tone. “Stanford is no joke and I will have to
work my ass off to maintain a good grade point average. I probably won’t be
back until summer vacation.”
“Christ, that’s a long time.
Why are you leaving now?” he inquired as he stroked my soft, dark hair.
Clooney loved my hair for
some reason though there was nothing special about it except I had natural chestnut
highlights running throughout.
“I want to settle in to dorm
life,” I lied smoothly.
The reality was I just
wanted to get the hell out of Pine Bluff and be around intelligent people my
own age. I loved my parents but they were suffocating and although we’d spent
Christmas together, they’d opted to spend the week of New Year’s with my aunt
and uncle. Once they got back, we would celebrate with a wonderful dinner at a
nice restaurant in Lake Tahoe and a couple days later, I would be leaving.
Thank God for small favors.
So there it is...the novel involves all kinds of people from accountants and computer hackers to rock stars and bikers...I am very excited about this novel.
